Slim series laptop is consistently sitting at the top of Amazon's
Bestseller list. This laptop is almost a perfect laptop with few simple

Acer actually sells 3 flavor of this laptop (Update: Acer has refreshed their Aspire lineup)
So which one is the best for you? The answer is "it depends"!
If you want a powerful laptop for gaming, video editing or software development, then we will recommend the one with more powerful CPU aka Intel Core i5-8265U . This version comes with a full version of Windows 10 Home edition and 8GB RAM
For more casual users, the cheaper option is a better value for money. You will not go wrong with either AMD Ryzen 3 3200U or Intel Core i3-8145U. But there are few caveats with both these laptops.
The first is gimped Windows 10 "S" Mode. It has rightfully been hailed as Windows 10 "Shit" Mode. This version of windows is artificially gimped by Microsoft. You are not allowed to install any software not found in Microsoft App Store. Say goodbye to Google Chrome or Firefox Browser and say hello to Internet Explorer or God forbid Edge Browser!
Luckily its very easy to convert Windows 10 S mode to a full version of Windows 10 Home edition for free. Watch Techno Panda's review to get step-by-step directions on how to get rid of Windows 10 S mode.
The second limitation is lack of RAM. Both AMD Ryzen 3 3200U and Intel Core i3-8145U come with only 4GB of RAM. That's not going to cut it in 2019. You need at least 8GB RAM for the laptop to function properly. Luckily Acer has done a remarkable job when it comes to upgrading RAM and SSD. Both these laptops can be easily upgraded. Detailed instructions for upgrading both RAM and storage are provided in the video.
